MessageOne – A New Company Focused on Enterprise-Wide Messaging Management – Announces $18 Million in Funding

Includes $10 Million in Recent Third-Round Funding from RRE Ventures, Impact Venture Partners and StarVest Partners L.P.

Austin, Texas Company Founded by Adam Dell

Austin, TX - March 11, 2001 - MessageOne, Inc., the provider of the first easily deployed, enterprise-wide messaging management solution, today announced that it has received a total of $18 million in venture capital from New York venture capital firms RRE Ventures, Impact Venture Partners and StarVest Partners, L.P. MessageOne was founded in 2000 by Adam Dell, managing general partner of Impact Venture Partners. Mr. Dell incubated the company, and Impact Venture Partners provided $8 million in two initial rounds of funding. In January, MessageOne received $10 million in a third round of venture funding, which was led by RRE Ventures and included StarVest Partners L.P. and Impact Venture Partners.

"RRE Ventures has made this strategic investment in MessageOne because we strongly believe that Fortune 500 companies are seeking technology solutions that reduce management complexity, cost and risk, and help companies better protect their core business processes and intellectual property – which are heavily reliant on email," said Stuart Ellman, general partner of RRE Ventures and member of the MessageOne board of directors.

IT industry veteran Anne Perlman is MessageOne’s president and chief executive officer. She assumed leadership of MessageOne after serving as the first chief executive office of Moai Technologies. Ms. Perlman formerly spent fifteen years with Tandem Computers (acquired by Compaq) where she held the positions of general manager and vice president of marketing.

"MessageOne was born from listening intently to Fortune 500 CIOs and IT managers share their needs and pains around managing the increasingly complex messaging ecosystem," said Adam Dell, who is chairman of the MessageOne board of directors. "By focusing solely on messaging management, MessageOne has delivered an elegantly designed solution that companies can deploy immediately to improve the health, cost effectiveness and performance of their messaging environment."
