Morgan Stanley Dean Witter¹s Private Equity and Real Estate Private Equity Groups led the second round along with Bank of America, and Impact Ventures. Both of the first round investors Autodesk, Inc. and Crosspoint Venture Partners also participated in this round, bringing the total capital Buzzsaw.com has raised to $90 million.
Since launching its site November 1, 1999, Buzzsaw.com has experienced rapid growth, adding an average of 300 new building and design projects per week to its Web-based collaboration workspace. Buzzsaw.com¹s current total of approximately 5,500 active projects far exceeds that of any other online marketplace serving the building design and construction industry. With this round of funding, the company will extend its marketing, sales, and engineering efforts, explore key acquisitions and expand its presence into international markets.
